NIC Scale X Accelerator Programme
NIC Scale X is a 13-week deep-tech acceleration programme co-organised by the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC), Embassy of Japan, UNDP, Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI), and Plug and Play. The programme is implemented under the project “Vitalizing the Viet Nam National Innovation Center”, funded by the Government of Japan and co-implemented by UNDP and NIC.
Programme objective:
To support high-potential deep-tech startups in scaling their technologies, strengthening Viet Nam’s innovation ecosystem, and fostering collaboration between Vietnamese and Japanese startups, corporates, and investors.

The cohort will include approximately 80% Vietnamese startups and 20% Japanese startups to promote cross-border knowledge exchange and market access.
Selection process:

Top 40 startups: Group-based training and capacity building

Top 20 startups: Pitching to partners and stakeholders

Top 10 startups: Full 13-week acceleration programme

The programme emphasizes impact-driven innovation, aligned with Viet Nam’s national priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while building long-term startup capabilities in IP, regulation, taxation, and scaling.
